Netball in Wangaratta


Wangaratta Netball Association formed in 1937. Today it has over 1200 registered players. WNA runs two competitions, a Saturday Morning competition and a Wednesday night competition.

Girls begin netball at 8 years of age (or grade 3) with 'Netta' program and continue well into adulthood.

Today the Wangaratta Netball Association at the Barr Reserve is a 15 court complex with an office, clubrooms, canteen, change rooms, toilets and spectator shelters. It is run by a dedicated group of volunteers and continues to provide support and encouragement to players.

The Wangaratta Netball Association also sponsor Representative teams who compete in the annual zone competition in Victoria as well as tournaments hosted by other clubs.

Each year Wangaratta Netball hosts its own tournament on the first Sunday in May with competitions for 13 & Under, 15 & Under, and 17 & Under.

Netball represents a significant part of Wangaratta's vibrant sporting culture.


General Guidelines and Information
Wangaratta Netball Association is a no smoking zone (no smoking around the courts, toilets, tuckshop areas)

Please support all players' coaches and umpires with positive comments.

There should be a scorer from each team who stand beside each other; if a junior is scoring an adult should also stand beside them.

Codes of conduct must be handed out to coaches, player's parents and supporters.

There are awards donated to be handed out by coaches each week which are attached to score boards.

Our committee are all volunteers and give up precious hours to help run this competition, your support is vital in keeping this competition ongoing. We are seeking more help and support enquires to committee members
