THINGS YOU SHOULD KNOW ABOUT OUR UMPIRES
Umpiring is an important part of our Saturday morning netball competition.
Each week we require 50 umpires to run our competition

Facts about our umpires:
26 of these are adults.
Of these 13 are
NOT parents of players,
Of the 13, 4 are committee members,
3 others coach teams, and also umpire.
13 are mothers of players.
Of these 1
3, 4 also coach a team.
2 umpires have 2 daughters each, who also umpire.
2 have umpiring daughters.

1 member of Wangaratta Magpies and 1member of Wangaratta Rovers offer to umpire when they play home games and their services are not required elsewhere.

We also have 4, more experienced young, non playing umpires who turn up in the cold at 8.30am to umpire each Saturday.

The commitment of these people, either simply through love of the game, or to help their child’s team is enormous.

OUR YOUNG UMPIRES
The  remainder  of  the umpires are  young players, or sisters of players, who perform this arduous task regularly.
Fantastic effort.

We could not operate our competition without our umpires.
PLEASE acknowledge their wonderful contribution
and say thank you.

After all, no umpire, no match.
